His Eminence Theodosios, Archbishop of Sebastia

Was born in the village of Rame of Western Galilee in 1965. In 1984 he went to Thessaloniki where he completed his studies at the Theological School in 1990.
In 1991 he was assigned, by Patriarchal Order, the duties of Secretary at the Secretariat General and Teacher at the School of Ramle.
In 1991 he was tonsured Monk with the name Theodosios, joined the Hagiotaphite Brotherhood (Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre) and was ordained as Deacon. In 1992 he was ordained a Priest and received the title of Archimandrite a few days later.
During the same year he was appointed as Sub-principal and Teacher at the Patriarchal School of Saint Demetrios, Secretary of the Arabic Department of the Patriarchal Offices, and Professor of Pedagogy at the University of Haifa. He served as member of the Patriarchate’s Press Office, and as head of the Orthodox Religious Program of the Palestinian Radio Service. He took part in several official missions of the Patriarchate, such as at the Doha of Qatar Summit Conference of Muslim Countries and in Conferences on the Palestinian issue. He received many honorary distinctions from Arab States and is a member of many dialogue commissions between Christians and Muslims and numerous local Associations and Committees. He was elected Archbishop of Sebastia on 18/11/2005 and was ordained on 11/12/2005 at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
In May 2006 he accompanied His Beatitude in His visit of peace to Constantinople.
