On this feast, the Church honours especially the Theotokos as the most significant person who contributed in the mystery of the incarnation of her Son and God’s Logos and the salvation for us humans.
The feast with Matins and the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the attendance of H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, with co-celebrant Hagiotaphite Archbishops, Hieromonks, Hierodeacons, monks and nuns, as well as pilgrims who have come for the Christmas Feast.
After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, Archimandrite Eusevios and his choir chanted the Christmas apolytikion preceding the procession with His Beatitude, the Archbishops and the Priests who concluded in the main reception hall of the Patriarchate.
The Christmas brotherly osculation of the Archbishops and His Beatitude followed, and finally the pilgrims received His Beatitude’s blessing.
