NEW SCHOOL YEAR BEGINNING AT THE SCHOOL OF ZION

On Friday morning, September 1/14, 2018, day of the feast of the New Ecclesiastical Year, the Service of the Blessing of the water preceded the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal School of Zion. The Services were officiated by H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, escorted by Geronda Secretary-General Most Reverend Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina. Present at the Services were the Members of the School Board, the Most Reverend Archbishop Isidoros of Hierapolis, the Dragouman and School Director Archimandrite Mattheos, the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem Mr. Christos Sophianopoulos, the Spiritual Father of the School Students, Hegoumen of the Holy Monastery of Hozeva Archimandrite Constantinos, the School teachers and students.

Before the end of the ceremony His Beatitude spoke to the students in a Fatherly manner, encouraging them to excel in their studies and adjust to the life of the Patriarchate and the Hagiotaphite Brotherhood, so that if God calls them in the future, they will be ready to take over the ministry of the Church and of the Holy Shrines.

After the ceremony the School Director offered a reception at the School Reception Hall for all present, and guided them at the new renovated rooms through the classrooms on the first floor of the building.
