THE METROPOLITAN OF TAMASOS FROM THE CHURCH OF CYPRUS VISITS THE PATRIARCHATE

On Tuesday morning, May 23/June 6, 2018, the Most Reverend Metropolitan  Isaiah of Tamasos  visited the Patriarchate, escorted by  the Office of the Chancellor and President of the Community of Analyon Mr. Mihail Herodotos and members of the Holy Church of Saint Marina, which celebrates the centenary anniversary since its foundation.

His Eminence and his escorts were warmly received by His Beatitude and Hagiotaphite Fathers.

The purpose of this visit was the petition for the transfer of the Holy Icon of the Theotokos named “of the Hagiotaphite Brotherhood – of the Mount of Olives” which is kept at the Holy Monastery of the Men of Galilee on the Mount of Olives, to their church in Cyprus, for the festivities of its centenary anniversary, for the spiritual strengthening and help of the local faithful.

His Beatitude approved their petition and offered the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Tamasos an Icon of the Theotokos and the Sacred Edicule, while His Eminence offered His Beatitude an icon of St. Andrew the Apostle and all the Saints of Russia. From Secretariat-General
