THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN TRADE AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS OF BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA AT THE PATRIARCHATE

On Monday morning, April 24/May 7, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia Herzegovina Mr. Mirco Šarović visited the Patriarchate, escorted by the Attache of the Embassy of Bosnia in Israel Mr. Alexandar Nikolić and some of his associates.

The Minister and his escort were warmly received by H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos and Hagiotaphite Fathers.

In this visit the Minister thanked His Beatitude for his welcome as well as for the reception of pilgrims from his country and for the encouraging words He always has for Srpska.

In reply, His Beatitude said that the Jerusalem Patriarchate gladly fulfills its mission to receive representatives of countries and pilgrims from various Churches, especially the Orthodox ones who visit the Holy City. We owe to preserve the Orthodox character of Jerusalem despite the challenges we face. His Beatitude especially underlined the fact that if the Orthodox Church has unity in itself, it projects it to the Orthodox nations.

The Minister thanked His Beatitude for his visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre the previous day, and asked His blessing for his forthcoming visit to the Minister of Agriculture of Israel and to the King of Jordan.

On this occasion, His Beatitude offered the Minister an icon of the Theotokos and the renovated Sacred Edicule, while the Minister offered Him in return an emblem depicting the three nationalities which live in the Democracy of Srpska.
