A GROUP OF ANGLICAN FAITHFUL VISITS THE PATRIARCHATE

On Sunday 13th/26th November 2017, a 15-member group of Anglican pilgrims mainly from England but also from various European countries visited the Patriarchate, under Revd Canon William Guilford by the recommendation of Rt Rvd Jonathan Goodall of the Archdiocese of Canterbury.

This group was received by His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos and Geronda Secretary-General Most Reverend Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, welcoming everybody in the Holy Land, which has been watered by the blood of the prophets and especially our Lord Jesus Christ. His Beatitude also referred in thanksgiving to His recent visit to the Archbishop of Canterbury Most Reverend Justin Welby.

Welcoming the group His Beatitude mentioned to the mission of the Patriarchate as the protector of the Holy Land and the Christians who abide in it.

Moreover, His Beatitude referred to the continuation of the Holy Revelation, starting from the Old Testament and being completed in the New Testament, and consequently to the Judaic shrines that have been protected by the Patriarchate since the time of the New Testament.

Asking His Beatitude’s blessing, the aforementioned pilgrims left for their visit to the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, Most Reverend Suheil Dawani.
