THE FEAST OF ST. PROKOPIOS THE MARTYR AT THE PATRIARCHATE

On Friday, 8th/21st July 2017, the Patriarchate celebrated the memory of St. Prokopios the martyr, who martyred in Caesarea of Palestine during the reign of Diocletian in 303 A.D., at the chapel bearing his name, which is within the premises of the Holy Monastery of St. Modestos Patriarch of Jerusalem on Abu-Tor hill, opposite Holy Zion.

For the memory of St. Prokopios, Vespers was held in the evening and the Divine Liturgy on the morning of the feast, by the Spiritual Father of the Lavra of St. Savvas the Sanctified, Archimandrite Eudokimos. Singing were the monks of the Holy Monastery of St. Savvas with the participation of monks, nuns and members of the Greek community and congregation of the city of Jerusalem.

During the Divine Liturgy, H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos visited the shrine, escorted by Geronda Secretary-General Most Reverend Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina and Archdeacon Mark.

His Beatitude, the Priest and the Congregation were received for a reception by the good keeper of the Monastery reverend Monk Antiochos.
