EASTER MONDAY AT THE PATRIARCHATE (2017)

On Easter Monday, 4th/17th April 2017, the Paschal Service, meaning the Canon of St. John of Damascus on the Resurrection and the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom were celebrated   at the monastic Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, led by H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, with the praying Archbishops and Priests, as well as monks and nuns and many pilgrims.

At the end of this festal Divine Liturgy, the Patriarchal Entourage went to the Patriarchate in a procession, while the choir leader of the monastic Church of Saints Constantine and Helen Archimandrite Eusevios was chanting “Christ is risen” and “Let us behold the day of the Resurrection”.

Therein the brotherly Episcopal osculation took place and the pilgrims received the blessing by His Beatitude while He was offering them Easter eggs.
