THE FEAST OF ST SPYRIDON AT THE PATRIARCHATE

On Sunday, the 12th/25th of December 2016, the Patriarchate celebrated the feast of St Spyridon, Bishop of Trimythounta, at the Monastery dedicated to his name, by the wall of Damascus Gate, on the inside.

Vespers and the divine Liturgy were led by Metropolitan Joachim of Helenoupolis, who had as concelebrants Archimandrite Makarios and Hierodeacons Anastasios and Agapios. Archimandrite Eusebius sang with the left cantor of the Church of the Resurrection, Mr Alvanos, for a pious congregation of monks, nuns, members of the Rum Orthodox Community of Jerusalem and pilgrims.

After the divine Liturgy, the hegumen, Archimandrite Sergios, hosted the Metropolitan and the congregation to a reception at the hegumeneion.
