INSPECTOR AT CYPRUS’ EDUCATION MINISTRY VISITS THE PATRIARCHATE
At noon of Friday the 14th/27th of May 2016, Mr Christos Hadjiathanasiou, Inspector of Primary Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cyprus, visited the Patriarchate with Mr Fandi Abdelnour, member of the Patriarchate’s School Board in Israel.
Mr Hadjiathanasiou was welcomed by Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem. The two of them discussed educational issues pertaining to the Patriarchate’s schools, employing teachers appointed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cyprus. Also discussed were the harmonious relations between the Patriarchate and the Cyprus state, with special reference on the recently restored Exarchate of the Holy Sepulchre in Nicosia, by the support of His Beatitude Chrysostomos, Archbishop of Cyprus.
Mr Hadjiathanasiou offered the Patriarch a book authored by himself, and received the book on the History of Jerusalem by the ever-memorable Archbishop of Athens, Chrysostomos Papadopoulos, as well as an icon of Theotokos Jerusalemite.
