THE FEAST OF ST BARBARA THE GREAT MARTYR AT THE PATRIARCHATE

On Thursday, the 4^th/17^th of December 2015, the Patriarchate observed the feast of St Barbara the great martyr at the chapel dedicated to her name within St Nikolas Monastery, to the northwest of the Patriarchate.

Vespers, the Breaking of Bread and Unction and the divine Liturgy were led by the hegoumen of St Nikolas Monastery, Archimandrite Aristovoulos, as nuns sang and a pious congregation of locals, monks, nuns and pilgrims from Russia and Romania attended the service in piety.

After the divine Liturgy, the congregation was hosted to a reception at the hegoumen’s quarters.
