THE GATHERING OF THE HOLY ARCHANGELS IN THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM
On Saturday, the 8th/21st of November 2015, the Patriarchate celebrated the feast of the Gathering of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel at the homonymous Monastery opposite the Monastery, within the Christian quarter. Vespers and the divine Liturgy were led by His Eminence Methodios, Archbishop of Tabor with co-officiating Hieromonks, as Archmandrite Claudius, hegoumen of the Monastery of the Holy Cross, and Archimandrite Makarios, hegoumen of the Monastery of St Nicodemus. Archbishop Demetrios of Lydda sang with other Hagiotaphite Fathers in the presence of the Greek Consul-General to Jerusalem and his esteemed wife, members of the Arabic-speaking Community of Jerusalem, monks, nuns and pious pilgrims.
On the conclusion of the divine Liturgy, the hegoumen of the Monastery, Archbishop Demetrios of Lydda, hosted the Primates and others to a reception at the hegoumeneion.
