MEMBERS OF GREEK PARLIAMENT, MR KEFALOGIANNIS AND MS ANTONIOU, VISIT THE PATRIARCHATE

On Tuesday, the 16^th/29^th of September 2015, Mr Ioannis Kefalogiannis and Ms Maria Antoniou, Members of the Greek Parliament, accompanied by Mr Vasileios Koinis, representative of the Greek Consul-General to Jerusalem, visited the Patriarchate.

The MPs were warmly welcomed by Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem in the presence of the Patriarchal Commissioner, Metropolitan Isychios of Kapitolias. In the context of the meeting, the Patriarch and the MPs discussed the financial crisis in Greece as well as the unstable political situation in the Middle East. Patriarch Theophilos also referred to the Israelis’ Feast of the Tabernacles and the Patriarchate’s peacemaking work that condemns any act of fanaticism and violence in the region. Finally, the Patriarch offered MPs Jerusalemite eulogias and His blessings.
