THE FIRST PRE-SANCTIFIED LITURGY OF THE GREAT LENT

On Ash Wednesday morning of the First Week of the Holy and Great Lent, Matins with the Hours and the Divine Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts were officiated with the participation in prayer of H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos. Participants in the prayer were the Hagiotaphite Archbishops, Priests and Monks, under the chanting of the Choir Leader Archimandrite Eusevios, Archimandrite Alexios, who is the Typikon Keeper, the Patriarchal School Students and Archimandrite Demetrios. The Services were attended by a congregation of Nuns, local faithful and pilgrims.

The Divine Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts was also celebrated at the Horrendous Golgotha on the morning of the same day, at 8 a.m., led by Geronda Sacristan, Most Reverend Archbishop Isidoros of Hierapolis, with co-celebrants the Ministering Priests of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Hierodeacon Patrikios. The Fathers of the Holy Sepulchre held the chanting with the participation in prayer of the Most Reverend Archbishop Makarios of Qatar, and the attendance of a noble congregation.
